a little about me

My name is Kaci (she/her) and I’m a Chinese-American tattooer living and working in New York.

I never really planned on becoming a tattoo artist. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Ecology from Rutgers University and worked in research for several years. While finishing my degree and working in a conservation biology lab, I took an interest in and pursued tattooing after lockdown granted me all the spare time in the world to pick up drawing again. Years later, I’m still tattooing! These days, I’ll accept any tattoo request that has to do with plants and animals though I’m partial to birds, moths, and fish. I am grateful that tattooing has given me the opportunity to remain immersed in naturalist circles while running a creative practice (I have the coolest clients).

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, folk music, and trying local natural wines. I’m slowly getting into birding and I’ll probably feel the pull to sign up for a half marathon one of these days.

I am very fond of cats, especially my two senior family cats in New Jersey. I wear hats most of the time.
